For decades, Masters of the Universe has been one of Hollywood’s most discussed but never completed franchise restarts. After failed attempts, many years of development issues, and constant casting rumours, fans have waited a long time to see He-Man finally come back to the big screen the right way. Now, that wait is nearly over, with the famous fantasy world officially returning in 2026.

Based on the famous Mattel franchise that became very popular in the 1980s, the new movie is expected to bring characters like He-Man, Skeletor, Man-At-Arms, and Teela back to theatres for a whole new generation. Early pictures and casting news have already drawn a lot of attention online, especially because the film focuses more on the broader fantasy world of Eternia rather than making the story overly realistic. For longtime fans who grew up watching the cartoon or collecting the classic toys, Masters of the Universe is clearly one of the most anticipated fantasy movies of 2026.

Here’s everything we know about ‘Masters of the Universe’.

‘Masters of the Universe’ Official Trailer

The first footage from Masters of the Universe already makes it clear that the movie is not holding back on the fantasy side of Eternia. The trailer reportedly opens on Earth, where Prince Adam, played by Nicholas Galitzine, has grown up after crash-landing there as a child. Unlike many other “hero from another planet” stories, Adam already knows he comes from Eternia and has spent years searching for answers connected to the legendary Power Sword of Grayskull.

Once the trailer shifts towards Eternia, the movie’s scale really starts to show. One of the biggest talking points is the first real look at Jared Leto as Skeletor, who appears far closer to the classic animated version than many fans expected. Instead of toning the character down, the movie seems to fully accept the glowing magic, oversized armour and dramatic fantasy style for which the franchise is known. The environments also follow the same direction, packed with giant castles, bright colours, glowing weapons, and massive science-fiction fantasy landscapes.

Castle Grayskull appears prominently throughout the footage and already looks like one of the film’s visual centrepieces. Thankfully, the movie does not seem interested in making Eternia feel overly dark or grounded. Everything looks loud, colourful, and intentionally larger-than-life, which honestly feels like the right approach for a franchise built around giant warriors, magical swords, and skeleton-faced villains ruling entire worlds.

The trailer also gives fans their first look at several major characters from Eternia. Camila Mendes appears as Teela, while Idris Elba takes on the role of Man-At-Arms alongside Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress. Combined with Nicholas Galitzine stepping into the role of He-Man, the footage already feels like Universal is aiming to turn Masters of the Universe into a full-fledged fantasy franchise rather than simply another nostalgia-driven reboot.

‘Masters of the Universe’ Cast

One of the biggest reasons Masters of the Universe has already grabbed so much attention is the cast. Universal has put together a lineup filled with rising stars, established Hollywood names, and actors who actually feel like they belong in the wild fantasy world of Eternia. More importantly, the movie does not seem interested in stripping away the franchise’s colourful, over-the-top side just to make everything feel “grounded.”

Leading the movie is Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam and He-Man, which easily becomes one of the actor’s biggest roles so far. Opposite him is Jared Leto as Skeletor, a casting choice that immediately had fans talking online once it became official. The supporting cast is packed with familiar names, too, including Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, and Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress.

Here’s the confirmed cast of ‘Masters of the Universe’ so far:

  • Prince Adam / He-Man — played by Nicholas Galitzine
  • Skeletor — played by Jared Leto
  • Teela — played by Camila Mendes
  • Man-At-Arms — played by Idris Elba
  • King Randor — played by James Purefoy
  • Queen Marlena — played by Charlotte Riley
  • The Sorceress — played by Morena Baccarin
  • Evil-Lyn — played by Alison Brie
  • Fisto — played by Johannes Haukur Johannesson
  • Roboto — voiced by Kristen Wiig
  • Suzie — played by Sasheer Zamata
  • Goat Man (motion capture) — played by Hafthor Bjornsson

Behind the camera, the movie also looks like it landed in solid hands. Director Travis Knight previously handled Bumblebee, and many fans are hoping he brings that same balance of action, heart, and practical world-building into Eternia. Since Knight also runs the animation studio Laika, there is hope the movie keeps some texture and personality instead of feeling overloaded with lifeless CGI. The score is also expected to stand out with Daniel Pemberton attached after his work on the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse films.

This also marks the first major live-action return for He-Man since the 1987 Masters of the Universe starring Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella. From everything shown so far, the reboot looks fully committed to the strange fantasy energy that made the franchise memorable in the first place — giant swords, glowing magic, skeleton-faced villains, and all.

‘Masters of the Universe’ Release Date

Masters of the Universe is currently scheduled to release in cinemas on June 5, 2026. After spending years stuck in development with multiple studios, directors, and scripts attached at different points, the movie is finally moving forward as one of Universal’s biggest fantasy releases for 2026.

The release date also places the movie directly in the middle of the summer blockbuster season alongside several major franchise releases. That alone shows a lot of confidence from the studio, especially given Masters of the Universe’s potential to become a much larger fantasy franchise if audiences connect with Eternia and its characters.

TAG Heuer’s 2025 Formula 1 Chronograph Collection is officially back, and it’s bringing a serious rev to the track. Launched at LVMH Watch Week, the new collection boasts four standout releases, plus a special Oracle Red Bull Racing Team edition. These watches don’t just look fast—they’re packed with the precision and style that have made TAG Heuer a legend in both motorsport and watchmaking.

But here’s the kicker: TAG Heuer has also returned as the official timekeeper for Formula 1, cementing its position in one of the world’s most high-octane sports. If you know anything about F1, you know that timing is everything—and TAG Heuer has been ensuring those crucial milliseconds are counted accurately since the ’70s. The original Formula 1 collection, launched back in 1986, became iconic for bringing the spirit of racing to everyday watch lovers. Now, decades later, TAG Heuer is back with a vengeance, combining F1’s adrenaline-fueled heritage with cutting-edge design and performance in this new collection. It’s not just about looking cool; it’s about a legacy that thrives at the intersection of precision, style, and speed.

Dial and Case

The 2025 TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph collection takes design cues directly from the racetrack. Each piece is forged from Grade-2 titanium—lightweight, durable, and visually striking. With a 44mm case size, these watches have a bold presence on the wrist, and thanks to the plain-titanium Grade 2 case back, the watches maintain that perfect balance of form and function.

The case itself has been refined with sharper, more aerodynamic lines, echoing the design of an F1 racecar. Look closely, and you’ll notice subtle micro-perforations on the bezel, inspired by brake discs and indices shaped like the front of F1 cars. There’s also a coloured ring between the case and bezel, a nod to the engineering precision of professional motorsport. The dial also features a vibrant contrast between dark and light hues, reflecting the energy of “Grand Prix by night” and adding a unique twist to each model.

TAG Heuer knows that durability is as important as performance, so this chronograph is built to withstand everyday life’s elements and intensity. With 200-meter water resistance, you can take this watch anywhere—from swimming in the ocean to being caught in a downpour, and it’s designed to keep going strong no matter the conditions. Whether you’re hitting the track or the beach, this watch is built to perform at its peak, just like the racecars that inspired it.

Calibre 16 Movement

The 2025 TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph collection is powered by the robust Calibre 16 automatic movement, offering a level of precision and reliability that will impress even the most discerning watch enthusiasts. This movement has earned its reputation for consistent, high-performance functionality, ensuring you get an accurate timepiece that’s ready to keep up with you. With an impressive 42-hour power reserve, you won’t have to worry about winding your watch daily—it’s built to keep ticking for two solid days before needing a wind.

Functionality-wise, the Formula 1 chronograph doesn’t hold back. It comes equipped with 1/4 second timing for those moments when every fraction of a second counts, allowing you to measure time down to the smallest detail. Plus, the 30-minute and 12-hour counter ensure that you’re well-equipped to track longer durations, whether timing laps at the racetrack or tracking your latest adventure. The added date display is a simple yet essential feature, giving you all the practicality you need in a luxury watch.

For those with a need for speed (or who appreciate a finely tuned piece of engineering), the tachymeter scale is a game-changer. This feature allows you to measure speed over a fixed distance, which is perfect for anyone passionate about motorsports and those who like to calculate performance down to the last detail. It’s another nod to the high-performance world of F1 racing, where every second counts.

The 2025 TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph collection will be available starting April 2025, and it’s definitely worth the wait. Whether you’re leaning towards one of the four standard releases or the exclusive Oracle Red Bull Racing Team special edition, these timepieces are bound to turn heads.
